Meet Corina Cordova, CCIM
Who Am I?
From her roots in a small border town to leading a diverse business portfolio, Corina Cordova has built her career around creating opportunity for her clients, her communities, and the emerging leaders who follow.
With more than 26 years of experience in real estate development and construction, Corina’s background spans land development, retail, office and industrial leasing, property management, investment sales, construction project management, and real estate investing. Her multifaceted perspective allows her to connect long-term development goals with the practical steps needed to bring them to life.
Early in her career, Corina joined a governmental and urban planning consulting firm as a Governmental Planner and Grant Administrator. There, she gained extensive experience in federal grant writing, zoning, urban planning, and development approvals for master-planned projects. Her work included representing economic development corporations, municipalities, developers, and landlords, with a focus on building sustainable communities in rural areas and communities without direct entitlement funding.
Fueled by her passion, Corina became a master at balancing between a successful career and family. Corina’s first transaction of her commercial real estate career was valued at $1.5 million, which she saw as a divine opportunity that she was on the right path. Since that pivotal event, she embarked on a successful real estate venture piquing her interest in real estate with an acquisition and disposition volume of over $201 million in closed transactions and leasing several million square feet of retail and industrial space in Texas. Her credentialing includes licensing by the Texas Real Estate Commission and a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM).
However, obtaining her Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation, one of the highest distinctions in the commercial real estate sector, is one of her proudest accomplishments. Corina joined a Houston firm in early 2019, after a successful merger and acquisition of her own RE/MAX and Motto Mortgage franchise. She brought it all to bear as she managed a private equity multi-million dollar portfolio of commercial assets, which includes several hundred thousand square feet of professional office, retail, and industrial space in Texas. She oversaw and managed all operations of an extensive commercial portfolio as well as construction projects within the her own investment portfolio. Her extensive experience in construction management and economic development as well as being bilingual, enables her to effectively manage small to large scale size projects.
Today, Corina serves as the Visionary Leader of Empresa Construction Group and Empresa Electrical Contractor, leading the operations of electrical and infrastructure construction services across governmental and municipal markets. She brings development strategy and field execution together to guide complex projects, strengthen partnerships, and move her companies forward in a competitive industry.
Corina is also a licensed Texas REALTOR® and an active real estate investor. She combines investment strategy, development expertise, and experience with grants and community development funding to turn opportunities into projects that create lasting value.
